Mosaic creatively conceptualised, designed, produced and installed the ‘KLMood Booster’, a happiness-dispensing vending machine for commuters to interact with across the UK from Blue Monday. Free prizes for passers-by included: Free flights to anywhere in the world, bunches of tulips (the national flower of the Dutch) tins of stroopwaffles, reusable coffee cups, hot chocolate, marshmallows. Customers approached the KLMood Booster and KLM cabin crew brand ambassadors, and let them know how they were feeling that day, via the purpose-built Mood Booster app. Once completed, customers were dispensed with a free gift to cheer them up, along with a printed boarding pass including a QR code, to send them to the dedicated KLMood Booster micro site for further chances to win a prize.
The project tapped into key areas within the Mosaic agency including; creative concepting, campaign brand creation, 2D graphic design, digital app development, 3D rendering, technical CAD drawings for manufacturing, procurement, production, installation, print of marketing collateral and full project management.
The KLMood Booster was successful in receiving a huge amount of attention at each of the train stations, with queues of people waiting to interact with the vending machine. The activation also received national PR attention in the Daily Mail, and over 1,000 people scanning the dedicated QR code to head to the online micro site.
