Mosaic creatively conceptualised, designed, produced and
installed the ‘KLMood Booster’, a happiness-dispensing vending
machine for commuters to interact with across the UK from Blue
Monday. Free prizes for passers-by included: Free flights to
anywhere in the world, bunches of tulips (the national flower of
the Dutch) tins of stroopwaffles, reusable coffee cups, hot
chocolate, marshmallows. Customers approached the KLMood Booster
and KLM cabin crew brand ambassadors, and let them know how they
were feeling that day, via the purpose-built Mood Booster app.
Once completed, customers were dispensed with a free gift to
cheer them up, along with a printed boarding pass including a QR
code, to send them to the dedicated KLMood Booster micro site
for further chances to win a prize.
The project tapped into key areas within the Mosaic agency
including; creative concepting, campaign brand creation, 2D
graphic design, digital app development, 3D rendering,
technical CAD drawings for manufacturing, procurement,
production, installation, print of marketing collateral and full
The KLMood Booster was successful in receiving a huge amount of
attention at each of the train stations, with queues of people
waiting to interact with the vending machine. The activation
also received national PR attention in the Daily Mail, and over
1,000 people scanning the dedicated QR code to head to the
online micro site.
